The problem
AI glasses need to last all day, show a clear display, and respect privacy. Most send everything to the cloud and run out of battery in about four hours.
What we built
A small AI chip in the frames does the thinking on the device, with a colour display and sound that travels through the bones of the head instead of a speaker. A cloud assistant handles longer tasks and remembers context. The whole design is open for developers to build on.
What changed
The glasses ship to a developer community, with the full hardware and software design published openly.
How it works
- 1
Chip
a low-power AI chip in the frames, sized so the AI fits its memory.
- 2
Display and sound
a colour micro-display and bone-conduction audio; no microphone streaming to the cloud.
- 3
Software
an open operating system developers can extend without rebuilding the device.
- 4
Cloud
an assistant for longer tasks and memory, kept off the everyday path.
Results
What it delivers.
Against roughly four hours for cloud-only glasses
Speech is handled in the frames, so privacy is built in
Designs published for developers
“All-day battery and real privacy turn out to be the same decision: keep the AI on the device.”
